Description from the creator

Learn how to age meat in a refrigerator in todays video!

In this video we age venison at home in the refrigerator, but you can apply this method to beef as well.

Last week we shared with you my successful buck hunt. A big buck is always fun to harvest, but the meat is not always so tasty.

So I decided to age the buck meat, to make it more tender and less gamey.

In this video we age venison in the refrigerator. I hunt the meat on hooks from the top shelf in the fridge. Then I put a drip pan in the bottom of the fridge to catch any drippings. Finally I installed a small fan to add moving air to the chamber.

Talking with my butcher, I learned that meat ages best at 34-38 degrees fahrenheit. So we set the fridge to it's colder settings and left the meat.

2 Weeks latter I pulled the venison out and trimmed it for packaging. It smelled great and looked beautiful!

In 2 more weeks I will finish the final pieces, and then do a taste test! Subscribe so you don't miss it!
