A hilarious video shows the surprisingly simple way to hypnotise a chicken – by drawing a line in front of its beak.

Making sure to not distress the bird by not putting it on its back, the video shows Natalie Pearce and family gently handling the chicken before drawing two lines in the dirt in front of her.

Focusing on the lines, the bemused bird doesn't budge as the family watched on bemused at their farm in Spain, until they clear the line with their hands.

Natalie said: "Normally, it is recommended to attempt to try and hypnotise the chicken while they're on their back, but this can be considered cruel and may cause the animal harm or distress.
