How to Import Your Yahoo Email Contacts

Access your other accounts' contacts in Yahoo Mail by importing them into Yahoo Contacts.

Import from Facebook, Google, Outlook.com, and Yahoo Mail
It only takes a moment to bring your other contacts into Yahoo Mail from supported email providers. You'll need to be signed in to your Yahoo Mail account to complete these steps.
Click the Contacts icon Graphic of Contacts icon..
Click Actions | select Import.
Click the listed provider's Import button.
If prompted to Sign In, Accept, or Allow Access, do so.
- A confirmation screen appears.
Click Done or View contacts.
Did you know? If you import contacts from Google or Outlook.com, Yahoo Contacts will automatically check for new or updated contacts every 24 hours.

Import from another source
If your contacts are not within one of the providers above, you'll need to export them to .csv or .vcf before you can add them to your Yahoo Contacts.
Your email provider's help documentation should have instructions on how to export to .csv or .vcf.
Importing .csv or .vcf contacts files into Yahoo Mail:
Click the Contacts icon Graphic of Contacts icon..
Click Actions | select Import.
Beside "File Upload," click Import.
Click Choose File
- Locate the .csv or .vcf file on your computer.
Click Import.
- A confirmation screen appears.
Click Done or View contacts.
