Almost Done! I prepped the treads by staining and applying polyurethane. The risers are mdf and I painted a 4 by 8 sheet with several coats before cutting down to approximate size. I used a kreg jig to attach the treads from underneath, but I just used finish screws for the risers. Since the risers are painted I'll use caulk or wood filler to patch the screw holes and then touch up the pain.
