How To Make a Southern Old Fashioned Cocktail

Our favorite Old Fashioned is one that Sara has dubbed The Southern Old Fashioned because it uses tea! To make yours at home, you'll need:
2 cups of sugar
2 oz Bourbon or Rye Whiskey
Orange Spiced Black Tea (or your tea of choice)
Luxardo Cherries
Bitterman's Elemakule Tiki Bitters
Ice

To make the simple syrup, boil 2 cups of water, take it off the heat, then add 2 cups of sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Then add 2 to 3 tea bags and allow it to steep for 15 minutes. Bottle the simple syrup.

Add 2 oz of whiskey (we like Wild Turkey 101 Rye) to a glass.
Add .5 oz (or a little less if you like it less sweet) of the simple syrup.
Add 10 drops of the Tiki Bitters.
Drop in 1 Luxardo cherry.
Add some ice, stir, and enjoy!
