Description from the creator

The latest installment of Shakespeare in Detroit's How To series is a great exercise for the 3rd to 5th grader in your life (youth in grades K-2 may also want to try out this activity).

This episode is a part of our commitment to create robust content for teachers, parents and students this fall 2020 semester c/o Shakespeare STEAM. This exercise would fall under the A (art) and M (Math -- cutting, measuring) pillar and is a great introduction to costume design and engineering for young people.

This module was made possible by way of a community grant from St. John's Episcopal Church in Detroit, Michigan.

Shakespeare STEAM is Shakespeare in Detroit's educational program for students in 3rd (sometimes younger) through 12th grade in Detroit, Michigan. The program aims to provide practical skills and vocational training to youth with Shakespeare as a conduit for learning and imagination. The curriculum focuses on several theatre tools onstage and behind the scenes such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.
