How to service a 4 stroke outboard motor yourself - Honda BF30

In this video I service my 2008 model Honda BF30 4 stroke outboard motor. Im not an outboard mechanic but I learnt to do it myself which saves me about $250 each year. So if you have ever wanted to try service your own outboard, this video might just be the guide you need to try it yourself.

In this service I do the engine oil and filter, gear oil, thermostat, fuel filter, spark plugs and impeller. This is a typical 100hr annual service.

This is not an exhaustive list of outboard motor maintenance. There are other things you should check such as battery terminals and its state of charge. The condition of anodes etc so if you are ever in doubt go see your Honda dealer and get them to service your motor.
