An authenticity expert from designer consignment shop The RealReal in New York City taught Insider producer Kyle Kerchaert how to spot replicas of popular designer jewelry. We took a look at some of the most iconic jewelry pieces around: the Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklace with 20 motifs, the Hermès Clic Clac H bracelet, Elsa Peretti's bib necklace for Tiffany & Co., the Cartier Love bracelet, and the David Yurman Cable Classic bracelet. Jewelry-authenticity expert Katherine Ward put us to the test to see if we could determine the real designer jewelry pieces from their knockoffs. We also learned some tips along the way for how shoppers can spot the difference themselves.
