This is a very quick and easy way to tell if your new Queen is mated or not, bees act a certain way when they have a mated queen opposed to when they don't have a mated Queen their work ethic is greater, they're not so much in a limbo State of Mind. And the population is double if not triple from when you did the split and this does not come from the newly hatched brood ,this is from the queen coming back from her mated flight and she brings back a lot of bees with her.
