I have men complain to me all the time that, "She's thinking something, and I don't know what it is. She's confusing, she's always saying things off the ball, off the mark." Well, it's important to realize that men think in data. They think...they think A to B to C. And usually, you say what you mean. If you're hungry, you usually say, "I'm hungry." Women are different. Women are always thinking something without saying it. We think....we want something to eat, we're never going to say "I'm hungry." We might say, "Honey, what do you want to do tonight?" or "I was thinking maybe we should have Chinese." They're going to elongate, they're going to talk about how they feel about a topic, so, when you're talking about cats and dogs, a man might say, "I like dogs, I don't like cats", whereas a woman will elaborate. She'll say "Oh, but this or but that." The best way to understand what she's really thinking when she says "No", or "I'd rather not", is to ask questions about how she feels about something. So if she just says, "I don't want Chinese food", the best way to ask is, "How do you feel about Chinese food? What don't you like about it?" Then you can definitely insure you're going to get a true response. She's only likely to answer questions with a yes or a no, or with a how to you feel, or what don't you like prefix to them.
