How to Catch a Star - A Stop Motion Short Film

"How to Catch a Star" follows a boy who loves stars so much that he decides to catch one himself. Adapted from the children's book by artist, illustrator, and writer Oliver Jeffers, it is a story about dreaming big and doing whatever it takes to achieve those dreams, set in the colourful world of a child's imagination.

Having worked in the kids section at Chapters for almost 5 years now, this story has always been one of my favourites. It was created as a short project to explore Adobe After Effects and Premier in my Visuals Studies class last spring, and so I took the opportunity to try some basic stop motion, something I have never done before. The film is the product of multiple individuals' passion and creativity towards bringing to life such an imaginative story.
