First and foremost the most important thing
Is a phenomenon called evaporative cooling
When liquid water turns to gas, nawmean?
Well it requires a certain amount of energy
So the water on the towel takes energy from the drink
And as it evaporates, I know you might think
Evaporation doesn’t happen without warmth or sun
But don’t forget about dryness, which can also get it done
Freezers, are not only cold but also dry
And rapid evaporation causes cooling but why?
‘Cuz phase change takes heat like I said already
And I know y’all can relate if you’ve ever been sweaty
See we sweat to cool down when our bodies overheat
and as the sweat evaporates it’s like the cooling of our drinks
Water has more thermal conductivity than air
and plus the surface area is one more thing to compare
Bottles and cans are flat so paper towels are the answer
‘Cuz their imprints increase surface area for heat transfer
There you go now you know how it works and how to use it
until next time for more rhymes, demonstrations and music
