I noticed a comment from a viewer asking me to do a video on hair creation and this is how I create hair. I made the hair in the thumbnail in 860 polys, and I had some really nice detail with it.

Blender is probably the software you should get to know for hair creation if you don't have Maya or don't want to pay for software, as Blender is free.
