UPDATE: if you need virtualdub download the 32-bit (x86) stable version to make the gradation.vdf compatible

Gradation Tool (add gradation.vdf file to virtualdub programs "plugins" folder): members.chello.at/nagiller/vdub/downloads.html
ffdshow (Be sure to check the Virtualdub box when installing):
ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/download.php

Here is the step by step editing for awesome quality. Click and drag or import your video file then go to Video tab then Filters and do the folllowing in order:

1. Click Add, then the de-interelace filter and check "Blend Fields" and ok. This makes the lines that appear in the video when movement occurs go away.

2. Click Add, Scroll down to null transform and double click the filter. then on the side bar of the filters tab it says "cropping", click that to make any black lines or unwanted picture on the side to be removed. (its a click and drag you don't have to type numbers in)

3. Click Add, Click the resize filter, Check "disabled" beside Aspect Ratio, Check "Absolute (pixels)" and beside that change the video size to 1280x720 (720p) or however you choose

4. This is where the gradation curve filter comes in. Click Add, Click the gradation tool and examine the line that is diagonal. You can also click preview to see how it will look when editing in this filter. EDIT: Here is a reference picture if you are having trouble imm.io/5pxt You don't have to follow these but these are my settings for this filter are then Starting at the bottom of the line, click and hold the first corner of the dotted grid it touches and move it downwards diagonally to the right. To be more precise move the line until your cross pointer's left and top point are touching near the top right sides of the grid box where the line was origanally. You may now do the same for the top, start from the top of the line, but instead move the line upwards diagonally to the left.

5. Click Add, Click the HSV Adjust and make the saturation higher or to your liking. Again you can preview the video and look at what your editing.

6. Click Add, Click Sharpen filter to adjust the videos sharpness. you can also preview this to make sure your okay with what your editing.

7. We are done Editing! but there is one last thing you should worry about is the size of the file once its being processed. Go to Video tab then click Compression then choose ffdshow and click configure. once there you'll want to make sure the Encoder is set to H264 to make the file size a lot smaller.

8. You can save your settings by clicking File and Save processing settings.

9. Now go to file and "Save as AVI" and your done! let it process and let me see how it turns out. :D If your having trouble just contact me and I'll see what I can do to help.
