How to install aptoide TV on your shield tv

In this beginner-friendly guide, I’ll show you how to download the official Aptoide TV APK, allow installation from your downloader or file-manager app, install it and start browsing TV-compatible apps.

Aptoide TV is an alternative app store designed for Android TV devices and compatible set-top boxes. Aptoide recommends downloading it only from its official Aptoide TV website.

Install a browser, downloader or compatible file manager on the Shield.
Open the official Aptoide TV website.
Download the Aptoide TV installer.
When prompted, allow that specific app to install unknown applications.
Open the downloaded APK and select Install.
Launch Aptoide TV from your apps list.

Aptoide also documents USB and Wi-Fi transfer methods when you prefer to download the APK on another device first.

Only install apps from publishers you recognise, review requested permissions and avoid modified or suspicious APK files. Some phone-only apps may not display correctly or work properly with the NVIDIA Shield remote.
