How To Play DOTA 2 (BEGINNERS GUIDE)

Mini Disclaimer, I am still really new to Dota 2, I had only played it for 500 hours and the tips that I am going to give you will be heavily based on my experience and knowledge of the game. I will try to be more specific in every topic.

How to move?!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I get it. I am also as confused as you when I first started this game out. It’s a whole new game. If this is your first time playing a MOBA game. Smash like!
This is your hero; this is your cursor. You move your cursor to the location you want your hero to go and then right click. Your hero will slowly move his/her ass base on his/her movement speed.
Did you know you can look at the enemy’s tower without walking to it? Keep watching I will tell you how.
To move your camera, you have to push your cursor to the edge of the screen.
What? You don’t have enough space for your mouse to move?
There’s a setting for you to move easier.
Bind any to the key you want to press on. I highly recommend you to bind this to your side mouse buttons.
With this bind, every time you press on the key and then move your mouse. It will be acting as a grab tool. Try it yourself, it takes some practice.
As you can see beside your sexy hero’s face cam. There are few pictures that looks different in every hero.
They are your spells. To cast spells, you have to press the key it tells you to. Some spells require you to press on the key and then click on the area you want to cast.
Example. This hero is my favourite, it’s called EarthShaker.
When you press on his first spell, it shows a green line. To be able to confirm where to cast the spell, you have to LEFT CLICK on the floor or the destination you want to cast.
That’s all you have to know about controls now.
Copy my settings. Might be the most comfortable ones for beginners. BONUS TIP! BIND THIS TO SPACEBAR, SO WHENEVER YOU LOST YOUR HERO YOU CAN FIND IT.

How Do I Win?
Easy.
I recommend you to start with training and follow my tips. After training you should know everything.
No, I am just kidding. I find the training quite confusing.
In Short, To Win The Game You Have To Break This Building. It’s Heavily Defended but it doesn’t hurt you. Only the towers do.
If you have decided to play with real people.
Choose this mode, TURBO
It’s the fastest and easiest way to learn Dota 2.
You have to select the mode and then click find match. You will have to wait for a game, normally it takes about 1 minute. When you get it, there will be a green button that you have to click on. Or YOU WILL RECEIVE A PENALTY!
You got a game. Now, you will see the hero selection menu. There are 117 heroes in total.
You will be given 5 seconds to ban a hero in turbo. Just ban any hero.
What hero do I recommend? That will be tip NUMBER 3
There are 2 teams, Dire and Radiant. They are the same. Both has the same objective

You will have 5 players in each team.
The objective is to get this thing here. It’s called the Ancient.
Before getting that building. You have to destroy these towers. They do a lot of damage and they can see you even if you’re invisible.
There are 3 lanes in the map. Top, Middle and Bottom.
The middle player gets higher levels. It means they will have their ultimate faster than anyone normally.
You have to be level 6 to be able to upgrade your ultimate.
You will have a lane of these minions. They are called creeps.
They are your primary way to get money and experience.
In this game, there is something called Last Hit. If you are the one who hit someone or something before it dies. You will get the money. But of course if you helped someone to kill. You will get some money too.
