Description from the creator

To apply a monstrology card (ex. extract undead, extract wyrm, etc.) to another card you simply click on it and click on the card you want to enchant with it.

In order to extract a monster you have to attack a monster of the type you enchanted you attack with like if you applied an extract gobbler to a meteor strike, you have to attack an enemy that falls under the gobbler class in order to extract animus.

If you use the wrong extract spell, such as an undead extract on a gobbler, you will not receive any animus because the gobbler you attacked does not fall under the undead category.

Animus can be checked under the monstrology tab (T) and is divided under which world you received the animus from. A Rotting Fodder animus would be under the Wizard101 part of the Monstrology tome, while an Undead Wizard animus would be under the Dragonspyre subsection.

Animus can be used to summon a creature, create a housing guest of that creature, or in some cases expel that creature.

You will be able to summon any creature you acquire animus for, and it works like a treasure card summon for a minion.

The same goes for creating houses guests, they wander around like pets and mounts but they do not take up a pet slot and cannot be equipped as a pet or ridden as a mount.

Almost any creature that is not a boss can have an expel card created for it. An expel card does how it sounds, defeats the creature instantly.
