Livesplit Setup:
1. Create a new file called sar.asl (the folder does not matter as long as you can find it) and copy and paste from the link above, or alternatively, download the already made file from the Resources page on Speedrun.com
2. Copy and Past the information from this link into the file, and save it.
3. Open Livesplit with Portal 2 splits (splits can be found at here).
4. Right-click and select Edit Layout
5. Select the large + icon at the top left.
6. Go to Control
7. Select Scriptable Auto Splitter, double-click it and enter the file directory (Ex: C:\Livesplit\Components\sar.asl)
8. Right click on Livesplit, and hover "Compare Against", and select "Game Time"
9. Optionally, remove the splits layout option, and add the subsplits layout option.

The commands I used for my autoexec:

plugin_load sar
sar_autorecord 1
sar_speedrun_autostart 0
sar_speedrun_offset 16868
sar_speedrun_time_pauses 0
cl_showpos 1

Recording Demos:

record demoname (records a demo, to be done in the level before the timer starts)
stop (stops demo records)

Shorter Loads:
ui_loadingscreen_fadein_time 0
ui_loadingscreen_mintransition_time 0
ui_loadingscreen_transition_time 0

More commands from Can't Even's video:

bind mwheelup +jump - binds scrolling up to jumping for bunnyhopping

bind mwheeldown +jump - does the same thing for scrolling down

ui_loadingscreen_transition_time 0 - saves about 4 minutes of load times during a full game run. Only currently in blender's version

cl_showpos 1 - shows your position, angle, and velocity, which is very useful for certain tricks in the run

sar_hud_velocity 2 - shows horizontal speed as opposed to total speed (I'm not sure if this is allowed in runs but it's useful for seeing how good you are at bunnyhopping)

bindtoggle (key) sar_sr_hud - sets a key to turn on and off the in-game SAR timer

bind (key) "incrementvar mat_ambient_light_r 0 0.05 0.05;incrementvar mat_ambient_light_g 0 0.05 0.05; incrementvar mat_ambient_light_b 0 0.05 0.05" - sets a key to toggle bright mode, most useful for chapter 5, but not necessary

save quick - makes a quicksave

load quick - loads that quicksave
