Description from the creator

In this video, Rachel demonstrates her step-by-step approach to making an AIDS awareness ribbon beaded pin. She first learned the design while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa, and then later adapted the concept as a project for her Palala Girls Club (PGC) in the village of Kgobagodimo in the Limpopo Province.

The PGC was a PEPFAR-funded program aimed at teaching Grade 6 and 7 girls health-related and culturally-appropriate life lessons, while incorporating a fun activity or craft -- one which might generate a sustainable income within the rural community.

The bead pattern can be viewed and downloaded here: scribd.com/doc/248200572/AIDS-Awareness-Ribbon-…

Rachel and her husband's Peace Corps memoire, Plod On, is available online at: plodonbook.com.

World AIDS Day is December 1st. Learn more at: aids.gov/world-aids-day/.
