Easy steps to follow to tie the US Navy clew knot exactly like they were tied during WWII.

I have search the interweb and have not found another clew tutorial video or clew instructional that correctly ties the clew as it was tied during WWII on the standard issued US Navy Hammock. I was able to reverse engineer the hammock clew from my grandpa's WWII US Navy issued hammock to preserve this knot.

I would have liked to use a natural fiber rope for the clew but I had to use what was a available to me. There is no doubt in my mind that I will make another one that uses a more accurate rope.
Repairing my grandfather's WWII US Navy Hammock. I needed to make a new clew as the old one had a few broken loops. I this video I make a simple frame to aid in the weaving of a new clew.

I couldn't have gotten this far without the work of Derek Hansen his video got me 90% there. youtube.com/watch?v=L5M-1M6WsvM His clew will work, but it is not the clew that was used on the US Navy hammocks during WW2.

What is a hammock clew? a Clew is a set of ropes used to suspend the hammock.
