Description from the creator

I am dreaming of vacation! Even if its in my own backyard :) The first 1000 people who click the link will get 2 free months of Skillshare Premium: skl.sh/virginialindsay11. This video was sponsored by Skillshare.

This bag is one of my favorite projects from my book, More Sewing to Sell. (shrsl.com/2amml or on Amazon at amzn.to/2zlC6e3). I love becasue it uses 2 half yards of fabric with almost no waste. It also does a fun play on directional prints. And, it is so roomy and stylish! Last- it is easy and fun to make :). I think you are going to LOVE this one!

If you purchase my book, you can get detailed printed instructions and cutting guides. Plus, I would appreciate your support! I cannot give away these detailed instructions since the copyright is owned by my publisher. But this video will give you the basics. Here are the pattern piece measurements...

For the exterior:
2 pieces 12'' x 18'' cotton- I used quilting weight and added midweight stabilizer (you could use fusible interfacing)
1 piece duck cloth for the base 12'' x 18''
2 pieces cotton 9'' x 15'' for sides- again, I added stabilizer/ interfacing
2 pieces cotton 3'' x 9'' for casing- fusible interfacing added

For the lining:
2 pieces 12'' x 18'' cotton- I used quilting weight
1 piece duck cloth for the base 12'' x 18''
2 pieces cotton 9'' x 15'' for sides

For the handle I used 48'' x 1'' cotton webbing. I simply sewed the ends together with a zig zag stitch to create a loop.

I also used a 3'' elastic cord and a 1'' button

Other items needed: sewing machine, coordinating thread, scissors (or rotary cutter and mat), iron and ironing board.
