Description from the creator

Various people have asked me how I manage to keep my wellies so immaculately clean and asked me for a little tutorial. (continue reading below)

Here you can see my white gloss Hunter Original Tall boots, which are a couple of years old now and have been worn intensively over the past months.

Never use aggressive detergents on real rubber boots as it will ruin them. Only use a mild handsoap. To clean the soles you can use an old nail scrubbing brush. Of course, this method works for all boots that are made of natural rubber, regardless of which manufacturer or what colour they are. It works for rubber boots with both a matte or high gloss finish.

After cleaning, make sure to wash away any remaining soap rests and dry your boots with a soft (tea)towel. Never place them near a heat source to dry or on top of a heat radiator. The hot air will dry out the rubber, causing cracking. Ideally, use Hunter Boot Buffer (or similar silicone) spray to replenish the rubber and restore the natural shine.
