Cosplay Tutorial: Borderlands Athena Aspis Shield

Athena from the Borderlands the Pre-Sequel shield (aspis) foam cosplay tutorial video. The colors of the shield are for the ninja blush skin of Athena. We show not only how to paint the foam pieces for the cosplay Athena shield, but also how to cut the pieces, heat treat the foam to get the bend in Athena’s shield just right, as well as all the other steps to get it together just right.

At theskim.net we believe anyone can make great cosplay with the right tools without spending a ton of money. Our Athena aspis was made for less than $20 of materials (this however included goodwill raiding though)

We hope that after watching this video, everyone will have a better chance at making a really great Athena cosplay. This first video centers on the visual part of the Athena aspis, but subsequent videos will contain how to add lights and spinning blades to the shield.
