Got clippers and a mirror? Cut your own hair into a "Faux Hawk" (FAUX-from the French word for false and HAWK-from the second part of MOHAWK The Mohawk, known as a "Mohican" in British/Commonwealth English, is a hairstyle. In the most common variety, both sides of the head are shaved leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the centre. As you are not fully shaving the sides with only a strip but a gradual fade from the ear up. Hence the name "Faux Hawk"

Anyhoo, there are Faux Hawks of every type, colour, width, length, girth, direction, angle and symmetry.
If it's messy, because of only being "messy" in the middle, it looks "styled".
Comb it down and over for a conservative/nerdy look,
I like mine a little longer and wider at the front ,(more to play with for different looks), and narrower to the crown before going a little wider then tapering to the bottom.
Sometimes an Ace Ventura / Mad Max sort of take on it, the "Mad Ventura", these days it's more sort of a "MulletHawk", and kinda different every time.
try your own version buddy,
***(not suggested doing it on your friend's hair with his dog's, clippers, because he's convinced you to, and how full of confidence he is in you, when you're both really drunk. Although, he did look badass after a couple days)

If you try it just go slow at first buddy, wash your hair, no conditioner, get it almost totally dry and make it stick out as much as possible, take your time, you can always take more off if you want.
if your clippers don't have the angled guards , for over the ears, (get good clippers, they will pay for themselves as fast as your hair grows, don't bother with cheap ones if you can help it), then just use the #2, (6mm) for the sides.
For the top just skim off the tips on an angle, keeping the middle longer mmmkay.
It will be trickier for those with fine hair, but you'll just have to have sharp clippers and go over it a couple more times, maybe even hold up the hair with a comb if it won't stick up to carve off.
Have a shower after, dry it well and then see if there's a few stragglers that need to be "taken care of", grab a razor, tidy the back up on your neck and...
....BAM!

Just gave yoself a badass haircut and saved 10-50 bucks each time. when people say, "hey sweet do" you'll be all like, "yeah, I did it myself" -;]

OK so I only showed one side and it might take you more than 5 min, but you get the point Tigers.

YEAH ya did! -;]

Have fun!
Keep on Hawkin and rock out with that Hawk out!

Cheers.
