Description from the creator

With this guitar tutorial for beginners we learn how to play E chord.

The first guitar chord we are learning is the E chord. In this tutorial for beginners we learn where to put fingers on the guitar fretboard, how to check that each string gives a clean sound and how to strum all the strings together to obtain a perfect E chord with the acoustic (or electric) guitar.

Here is how to play the E chord on the guitar.
- Middle finger on fret 2 of the second string from the top (second thickest string)
- Ring finger on fret 2 of the third string from the top (third thickest string)
- Index finger on fret 1 of the fourth string from the top (fourth thickest string)

The E chord is not the most difficult chord to play on a guitar, but it can be challenging for beginners, particularly if not used to play guitar chords. Make sure to follow the instructions in the video tutorial and pick each string separately before strumming all strings together, to make sure that your guitar is producing a nice and clean E chord.

And if you can’t make it the first time, don’t worry! If you continue practicing with the tutorial and exercises you find in Yousician, in a while the E chord will be the easiest thing to play!

What you'll learn in this tutorial is valid both for electric guitar and for acoustic guitar. The way you play the E chord is the same, you'll just have to adapt to the different characteristics of the neck of your guitar.
