Welcome to a HiRUM tutorial. Our tutorials are presented at a pace that caters to the novice user. Our eLearning Centre has accompanying Help Sheets. The following tutorial will assist you IF YOU WANT TO ADD A NEW ROOM IN HiSITE CHANNEL MANAGER.
You may need to add a particular room type to HiSITE that you haven't allocated in the past. You may also have a situation where renovations are made to a room that result in it becoming a different type of room. You may simply be offering a current room type for a different length of stay. No matter what the scenario if you follow this tutorial you will soon have your new room type added to HiSITE.
Select Property Manager from the menu, and then select the Room Types icon, Click on to the Add New Room Type button. It's important to listen closely to the following information prior to moving forward.

It is very important that all the values of this room type are entered correctly as when you select the Create button HiSITE will take your information and populate 720 days on the inventory grid for you. You are able to make changes to the values but the changes will only apply to the new days that are created automatically by HiSITE. This is a helpful tool to save time during the creation stage. OK, let's go ahead and set up a room type.

Enter the Room Type Name, it is usually a good idea to mention the minimum length of stay in the Description, Next complete the default inclusions remembering that this is simply a brief description of the room and its facilities,
If you are using the integrated model of HiSITE then always leave the Default Allocation at zero. If not, then enter an allocation/availability value that will automatically populate the inventory grid for 2 years with your chosen value.

Next we need to enter a Default Rate. This should be your most popular rate as it will automatically populate in the grid for 2 years. Bear in mind you can alter this rate at a later date. Now enter the Persons included in rate as well as the Maximum Persons in Room. Note that if the persons included in rate and max persons in room are the same still go ahead and enter an extra adult and child rate value as some channels that HiSITE connects to don't display information correctly unless there are values in these fields. Enter your Rack Rate, then complete the Default Minimum Stay filed, once again ensuring that this is correct as HiSITE will automatically create 2 years inventory based on this value.

Finally you can choose to select the Set Stop Sell on New Days if you wish HiSITE to automatically stop sell on new days as they are created, once you are completely sure all information has been entered correctly, simply click on to the Create button,
