How To Add Sections To Your YouTube Channel

0:00 In this very short video I'm going to show you how to set up sections or shelves
on the front of your YouTube channel.

This video follows on from 'Setting Up Playlist, and also, 'Removing Your History From The Front Of Your Channel'. Because when you do remove the history from the front of your channel, those check boxes end up setting up sections or shelves, on the front of your channel.

0:42 Now, there are many advantages to doing this. You can set up playlists on the front of your channel that allows your viewers to see the different areas that you have for the different types of videos that you have on your channels.

0:59 In the channel and if you scroll to the bottom you will see we have an 'Add
a Section' button here. Now, you would have noticed this from my previous video, 'How
To Hide Your History'.

When you set things up, following that video, you'll end up with your channel trailer at the top and you will, also, end up with a 'Add a Section' button.

1:23 So, to add a section, you click on 'Add a Section'. Now, from the dropdown, what you need to do is to select a 'Single Playlist'. If you're interested in others, you can just play around with these and see what they come up with.

1:56 or now we'll just click on the 'Single Playlist' and you have two layouts. You have
the Horizontal Row or the Vertical Row.

2:06 Your channel is also responsive, meaning that when people move the browser in and out, this will adjust accordingly. When you have this page a bit wider, you'll actually have two columns of videos available, here. And you will, also, have five videos across here, as well.

2:29 For now, we'll just stick with the horizontal row. And, we're going to select one of the playlists that I've set up on my channel.

2:38 If you haven't got a playlist set up, follow the video on how to set one of these up and you'll get them on there.

2:42 We're just going to click on 'Find a Playlist' and it brings up my list of playlists. I'm going to add 'How to Set Up YouTube'. It brings some of those videos, there. As soon as you're done, you click on the 'Done' button and then you have those
playlists available on your YouTube channel, for people to click on and for you to get
more views.

3:05 And if you want more sections, just click on 'Add a Section' button, and keep adding the sections onto your channel, until you are happy with what you've got.

3:13 That's how you set up sections or shelves on the front of your channel. And you'll see a very good example of this, on this channel, where I've set up different areas and different sections for different types of videos for YouTube. So, make sure to go to the front of this channel and check it out.
