You need Black Background or Black Antiquing from a professional jewelry supply company such as CR Hill, SEP, or Rio Grande. You also need AUL Solvent sold from the same companies listed above. Use a tiny paint brush with just a few bristles, make sure its a cheap one because you will want to toss it after. you also need some paper towel and a Q-tip is handy. Some jeweler prefer to use a tiny scrap piece of a jewelers saw blade or some sort of plastic toothpick instead of a brush to apply the black background.
