Description from the creator

When browsing the internet using Firefox, the browser automatically records your history and stores cookies, which track your activity. If you share a computer and prefer to keep your browsing private, manually deleting history can be tedious. Instead, you can configure Firefox to automatically clear your history when you close the browser, eliminating the need for third-party programs.

Step-by-Step Guide to Auto-Clearing Browsing History

1️⃣ Open Firefox – Launch the Firefox browser on your computer.

2️⃣ Access Settings – Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) located in the top right-hand corner and select Settings (formerly known as "Options").

3️⃣ Go to Privacy & Security – In the left-hand menu, select Privacy & Security to open Firefox’s privacy settings.

4️⃣ Adjust History Settings – Scroll down to the History section. In the dropdown menu next to "Firefox will:", change the setting from "Remember history" to "Use custom settings for history".

5️⃣ Modify Retention Settings – Find the "Keep until:" option and change it from "they expire" to "I close Firefox", ensuring history is deleted every time the browser is shut down.

6️⃣ Enable Automatic Clearing – Tick the box "Clear history when Firefox closes". Click the "Settings…" button next to it to customise what data will be cleared, such as cookies, cache, browsing history, and site data.

7️⃣ Save Changes and Close – Once configured, close the settings tab. Firefox will now automatically remove your browsing history whenever you exit the browser, keeping your activity private.
