HOW TO NOT GLUE YOUR LIPS TOGETHER
_______________________________
Cut the slit between the two lips a little bit longer, where it will fit into the sculpt without being too obvious. Apply glue just to the bottom half. Position this bottom half over your bottom lip and glue in place. Then, glue the upper half (bend it forward to get into it to be able to glue it) and glue onto your top lip.

First I take out my contact lenses with clean hands. Then I use a makeup remover which is able to take off the prosaide adhesive (my favourite is Super Solv by Telesis) on a cotton tip. I find the corner that's most likely to come up and start twirling the cotton tip w makeup remover until I can work it under the edge. I then work this around until I've gotten all the edges up and can remove the prosthetic. I then use a cotton pad dampened with Super Solv and remove any remaining prosaide. I then use a flannel wet with warm water, and the blue gel shaving creme (like Gillette or something) to remove the skin illustrator inks and blood. To get out the conditioner I will wash my hair in the shower. I finish by using a normal face wash, and moisturising my skin.
THOUGHTS ON HOLLOW LATEX PROSTHETICS
_______________________________
Because it is hollow it isn't fitted to sit on someone's face, which means gluing it around the lip area could be more difficult, and finding the points where it connects with skin to adhere it is different from having a flat surface to glue across.
But this hollowness works well if you want to create something that is too large to do in a heavier material like gelatine or silicone. I might use it to do a big clicker head piece for Halloween. A similar technique can be used to make full head latex masks.
It also doesn’t move ‘fleshlike’ like gelatine and silicone do, which gives away kinda where the prosthetic is.
So definitely a cool technique, easier because you only need to open the mould once, where as everytime I run a gelatine one it can eb quite difficult to open the mould each time because of the bowl shape and suction. It’s cheap cause it’s ultra cal and latex. But it does take time and energy to do all the steps. Would be cool for larger, lighter pieces with big shapes and not tiny tiny details.
