How to Breathe During Workout | Weight & Cardio Training

1. I’m going to tell you how to breath…I’ve been breathing for as long as I can remember. Well you I’m here to tell you, you might have been it wrong all your life. Well at least when you’re training.

2. Utilizing the correct breathing technique will leave you less fatigue and more energized throughout your workout. It will look as if you never get tired.

3. You want to take controlled breaths when training.
You are a fat burning machine similar to a fire every time you hit your training. If that fire has no oxygen it will burn out eventually. The same thing applies to your body. You need oxygen for better performance. Holding your breath during tough sets will leaving gasping for air.

4. Breathing during weight training can be tough but not impossible

5. You always want to breath out when you are performing the action or during the contraction part of your exercise.

6. Let me show you better than I can tell you

Push-Up
Squat
Curl

7. If you are accustomed to holding your breath, you should really stop. For one, you look like you’re constipated and 2, As you get stronger the weight gets heavier. Holding your breath causes you to build CO2 in your body making you tired a lot faster. In some cases, you could even pass out during the exercise. If this happens I hope embarrassment is the only thing you are suffering from.

8. For cardio exercises like Running/dancing, you can’t breathe for every concentric movement. This where you develop a rhythm or pattern to keep oxygen flowing to your muscles to keep them flexing

9. Focus on control.
When I run, sprint or jog I do the 2:2 method where I breathe out for 2 steps and I breath in for the next two. Develop a rhythm that works for you. Practice will be necessary. It will be weird thinking about how to breathe but once you get it, you got it.

For faster runs or movements, you can shorten the seconds to keep that oxygen flowing (rhythm, if you ain’t got it to keep practicing)
