How to build a bookcase in an alcove

Having a weird alcove or nook doesn't mean you can't use it for storage. Have a look at this modular, made to measure bookcase I build in my nursery!

With an Ikea Ivar unit as a base this bookcase fills up the weird shape of my alcove perfectly. The cubes and rectangles are made from 9mm plywood and are all glued and screwed together to make a child safe storage unit. Don't forget to anchor to unit to the wall too to make it extra sturdy.
