Learn how to burn MP3 files to a standard Audio CD using Windows Media Player. This method ensures your homemade music CD will play seamlessly in any standard standalone CD player, home stereo, or older car dashboard disc player.

⚠️ Important Tip for Car Stereos: Always use a high-quality blank CD-R rather than a CD-RW. Many older car stereos and standalone CD players cannot read rewritable (CD-RW) discs due to their lower reflectivity.

Written Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Insert a blank CD-R into your computer's disc drive.
2. Open Windows Media Player on your PC. (If you are in the Now Playing mode, click the "Switch to Library" icon in the upper-right corner).
3. Click on the "Burn" tab located in the top-right panel of the media library.
4. Click the small "Burn options" menu button (the icon with a checkmark and a drop-down arrow) in the Burn tab and select "Audio CD" from the menu. (Do not select Data CD, as car stereos cannot read raw MP3 files).
5. Open your File Explorer, select the MP3 files you want to burn, and drag and drop them directly into the "Burn list" pane on the right side of Windows Media Player.
6. Verify your total track time does not exceed the standard limit of your disc (typically 74 or 80 minutes). You can drag items up or down in the list to change the playback order.
7. Click the "Start burn" button at the top of the Burn tab list to begin writing the music to your CD.
