Description from the creator

Learn how to butterfly a chicken breast.

**STEPS**
0:06 Lay the boneless skinless meat on the cutting board with the smooth side down.
0:14 Locate the small inner fillet called the tender and remove it, cutting away any connective tissue. Set it aside or freeze it for a later use.
0:25 Turn the breast over. With the edge of the knife parallel to the cutting board, begin cutting down the length of the side of the breast. Carefully slice the breast in half widthwise, almost to the other edge.
0:40 Keep the edge intact and open the breast along the fold.
0:45 Cover the plastic cutting board with a plastic wrap.
0:50 Lay down the butterfly breast, folded open, and cover it with another sheet of plastic wrap.
1:00 With a smooth side of a mallet, gently pound out the chicken until the desired thickness is achieved.

**SUPPLIES**
Boneless chicken breast
Cutting board
Kitchen knife
Plastic wrap
Mallet

**TIPS**
- For best results, pound the chicken breasts in a down and away motion. This will result in a more even thickness.
- Make sure when handling raw chicken, you wash your hands before and after to prevent the spread of bacteria.
