How To Choose Your Wedding Colour Scheme | Wedding Planning Tips

WEDDING COLOUR SCHEMES MADE EASY!

This video is on how to choose your wedding colours!

Designing your wedding can be difficult so I like to break it down into steps to help your wedding planning process. I make wedding colour schemes nice and easy by teaching you my special 4-tone technique that I use every time I go to design a wedding! It hasn't failed me yet!

THE 4-TONE TECHNIQUE FOR WEDDING COLOUR SCHEMES

To use this technique you need to break down your colour scheme into 4 different tones:

Main Colour - This will be the throughline in your wedding colour scheme. In the example in the video we use orange which can be used in bridesmaids dresses, ties, cakes, dressing, table runners etc

TIP: Napkins are a fabulous way of bringing colour into your wedding theme! They are also inexpensive to hire to definitely consider it in your wedding planning and wedding budget.

Complementary Colour - Your complementary colour is the supporting sister colour to your main one! This will often be white but you can also use another bold colour that won't over-power the main one. In our example we use hot pink.

Top Note - Your top note is the embellishing colour in your wedding colour scheme. It is often a metallic colour like gold, silver or rose gold. You can also use a pastel colour e.g pastel yellow as we used here.

Undertone - Finally your undertone is the understated background colour so it's often a deeper version of your main colour. Use it in your wedding flowers, stationery and small embellishments.
