How to Clean a Dryer Vent DIY Kit so you don’t set your house on fire!
Our dryer vent wasn’t cleaned out ever in almost 20 years! That is a lot of lint which is a fire starter! To help prevent our house from catching on fire, improve energy efficiency and save money by not having to hire a dryer vent cleaner, we cleaned out our dryer vent ourselves.
This was our first time doing the cleaning, and the Gardus rotary dryer vent cleaning system kit made it really quite easy to do. We did need an extender for the dryer cleaning rod because our vent goes straight up through the roof (not the side of the house). You may or may not need that (check before you order).
