How to clean off Cemented Formula Food on a baby bird.

Unfortunately sometimes formula fed baby bird food gets stuck in the feathers and if not cleaned off straight after every feed, cakes up and becomes and truly cemented mess.

When we bought Leeloo home, she had been accumulating some of this - making her delicate skin red raw around her mouth. This video is a short demonstration on how we carefully removed something that was caked as hard as cement.

Most of the time, all you need is to soften it with water and gently prise it off with your nails... but in this instance, we needed to use small pliers to crush it off.
