Description from the creator

Fun and creative projects with LEDs can be made with just a little bit of knowledge. In this video you will see how to hook up multiple LEDs to a single power source using 2 different methods. We will look at how to set up connections in Series and in Parallel as well as some pros and cons of each choice. This simple extra bit of knowledge will help you to start stringing together multiple LEDs and help you to get the right amount of power needed to light them up. If you want to refresh your knowledge of some basic information for using LEDs then check out the following links.

In previous videos I covered:
1. The basics of LED lights (light emitting diodes) and how to use LED lights: youtu.be/zOjGB4t1SKI
2. How to use LED lights - Managing Power (adding resistors): youtu.be/7VIoWyp_6b4

Working with LEDs is fun and there are allot of creative projects you can make with LEDs. In future videos I will be sharing many projects that I have made using LEDs to hopefully give you some examples of project ideas that might be right for you. I will also demonstrate how I use a breadboard to test my set ups before I make them permanent. Experiment and have fun.

NOTE: You can buy LEDs on line for pretty good prices (the packaging should provide power requirements) but sometimes the LEDs I use are salvaged from items like toys, circuit boards, remote controls, etc. In this case you can't always tell what the maximum voltage requirement is for an LED. When that is the case I usually test them cautiously with batteries starting at 1.5 - 2 volts until I find the power that lights the LED.

Come back for more LED information and projects in the future.
