1. Matching and Mirroring
So the first key to really developing a strong connection with anyone, whether it's personal or professional, is to use an idea that's called matching and mirroring.

The first component of matching and mirroring is that at certain times you want to match what the other person is doing physically.

So if they lean back, you'll lean back. If they lean forward, you'll lean forward. If they're crossing their legs, you'll cross their legs, just like that.

So you're not going to be matching them the whole time like a robot. But what you want to do is at key times, every once in a while, if they lean in you lean in. If they lean back, you lean back. Whatever it is, creating that connection.

2. Show Interest
The second key is to show genuine interest and legitimately show that you care about what they're saying. That means, when they're telling you something about a hobby or interest you ask them questions and show that you really care about what's going on.

So if someone tells you about a hobby or a passion that they're into, ask them why? Or what's so exciting about that? Or what really gets you excited about doing that? It's amazing how you will see someone really light up.

3. Have Fun
The third component is actually… just have fun.

Whether you're on a date or talking to someone in a selling situation or even at a job interview, you want to have moments that are light and organic. It doesn’t all have to be super, super serious. In fact, on a date we all know if it's too serious it's not going to work.
