Description from the creator

Watch our step-by-step beginner’s guide on how to cook a rack of lamb and learn how to serve a luxurious roast.

A rack of lamb is a prime cut and consists of eight ribs with the fat and meat trimmed away. As one of the most expensive cuts of lamb, cooking a rack of lamb can feel like a challenge for novice cooks, but this video from the Good Housekeeping Cookery team will take you through how to cook a rack of lamb for optimal results.

A rack of lamb is also known as the best end of neck. Before cooking a rack of lamb, you should first get the butcher to remove tough papery outer skin and chine bone, leaving just the rib bones and an outer layer of fat.

A rack of lamb can be served as a starter or main for two to three people and makes an impressive party dish as it’s known for being a prime cut. It is also traditionally cooked around Easter time and can be made even more special when served as a crown roast or guard of honour.
