Description from the creator

In this full tutorial I will show you how to crochet this checkered patchwork stitch. The checkerboard pattern is a universal pattern that can be used to crochet many different projects. For example, clothing, hats, gloves, sweaters. It can also be used to crochet doilies, table runners, and place mats.
In this crochet tutorial I will be using black and white crochet thread, but any color combination of thread or yarn will work. You could use green and red for Christmas, or orange and black for Halloween... or even your favorite sports colors.

You can even find a nice border to border your piece and turn it into something elegant... or add tassels onto the ends and create a scarf!
