If you are doing a bath or kitchen remodel or if you have a leak, you may need to cut and cap off your water supply lines temporarily until you can repair the problem or install new valves. Here's a complete demonstration of how I do that.

I demonstrate three ways of cutting copper pipes in this video, and I'll use the Shark Bite brand compression fittings to cap the lines rather than the old method of sweating on a copper cap.
