This video shows a couple ways to - breaking the disk and drilling.
* Break the magnetic disks
* Drill through the drive
These are both physical means of destruction compared to erasing and overwriting the data. Newer solid state drives do not have magnetic disks, so pounding with a hammer will not necessarily destroy those.
