In this video I walk you through how to detangle and style a child's hair PAINLESSLY. A client, who is newly natural, came to me for one on one training on how to detangle, moisturize and decrease hair loss for the daughter's hair. I showed her how to make this process as painless as possible. The Products used in this video was by TM Hair Products. The Smooth thru Detangler and the Perfect Assist Styling Aid.
Smooth thru Detangler was used to detanlge her hair. I show the mom the following steps.
1. How to separate the hair into small to medium sections to have some type of organization to the hair.
2. If her hair is really matted and tangled, split those sections into smaller sections.
3.Lightly mist the child's hair with water to loosen it up and make it easier to move.
4.Because her hair tangles more at the root, squeeze smooth thru detangler on the root of the child hair and work it down to the ends.
5. ALWAYS work in a downward motion
6.ALWAYS start with a big/wide tooth comb when detangling.
7. Once you start to detangle ,ALWAYS start and the ends working your way up to the root.
8. Once you have completely detangled that section of hair twist/braid it to keep the hair from tangling again.

Once we were finished detangling, we shampooed her hair with a moisturizing shampoo.Then put the detangler back on her hair as a deep conditioner, and she sat under a hooded dryer for 20 minutes on medium heat.Next her mom blow dried her hair, and two strand twisted it with TM Hair Products' Perfect Assist Styling Aid.

The Perfect Assist Styling is a a moisturizer and a styling aid in one.It moisturized her hair without it feeling greasy. it also helps to fight frizz to help the style last longer.

The mom was able to make this style last two weeks. After two weeks she cowashed her hair with the SAME Smooth Thru Detangler blow dried it and she wore her hair straightened another week even through drill team practice!
