Description from the creator

A power rake or dethatching rake will take a lot of the dead material out of the lawn. I love doing this every fall because it helps the lawn look better quicker after a hard summer.

Don't have a Swardman? The Greenworks dethatcher gets rave reviews: amzn.to/2CEKK8c

It's normal for Kentucky Bluegrass to "shed" blades of grass after a tough summer. Detatching grabs all that dead grass (sometimes called thatch but technically not) and cleans up the yard real nice.

This also allows for nutrients, air flow, and water to get to the good grass so it can start to thrive faster. Using a power rake is easy, so try it this weekend if you haven't!
