Mahalo dance expert Professor Lock explains how to do the pimp walk.

Step 1: Pimping the Hands
---------------------------------------------------------------------

There are several pimp hands you can do but whichever one you chose, make sure your arms are down at your sides. One of the variations involves twisting your palms to the back of you, as shown in the image to the right, or pointing your fingers in front of you.

Step 2: Pimping the Feet
---------------------------------------------------------------------

For the second step you will do what ballet dancers call first position. This is where you point your toes outward, and then bring them back together facing forward. Do this while bouncing your knees at the same time.

Step 3: Pimping the Knees
---------------------------------------------------------------------

You will step forward and bounce your knees outward. You make this step after your feet have been pushed back together. After kicking, open your knees slightly. After doing this move on the right leg, move over to the left leg and alternate.

Step 4: Moving Back to the Hands
---------------------------------------------------------------------

While doing your pimp hands, move your hands back and forth like you would if you were strutting down the street.

Step 5: Adding Gestures
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Another fun thing about this move is that you can add a lot of attitude to it as you're dancing. Many dancers of the pimp walk will pretend they're gesturing to a person in the audience by pointing in between pimp walks.
