Description from the creator

🦶 Should you pop a blister — or leave it alone? Dr. Tom Biernacki, double board-certified podiatrist, shows you exactly how to drain a blister safely at home, and the cases where popping it does more harm than good.
🩺 Have diabetes or numb feet? Don’t pop it. Diabetic blisters in pictures, and how to tell when a blister is really an ulcer: diabeticfootguide.com/diabetes-blisters-on-feet…

Most small blisters on your hands and face will heal fine on their own — 99% of the time, leaving them is the right call. But when a blister gets large, fills with fluid, and sits on a pressure point (like your heel mid-run), leaving it can be worse than popping it. Dr. Tom walks through the safe technique: clean hands, a sterilized needle, draining through a small hole, and the one step almost everyone skips — leaving the top layer of skin on so the wound heals faster.

IIn this video you'll learn:
✅ 🦶 When a blister may need draining—and when to leave it alone
✅ 🧼 How to reduce contamination risk if managing a blister at home
✅ 🩹 Why keeping the blister roof intact helps protect the skin underneath
✅ 💊 How to cover and protect a healing blister
✅ 🏃 How runners can reduce friction and keep dressings from sticking
✅ ⚠️ When signs of infection mean you should see a podiatrist
