How to Draw a Cartoon Lion: Quick and Easy

Continuing our 'how to draw animals' series, here is a brief how to draw a lion video, starting from a simple circle. Even young kids can follow along with this, and even though they might not follow exactly, they'll still probably make something wonderful, as my kid did in this video.

Step 1: Start by drawing a simple circle

Step 2: Draw an inverted triangle, maybe rounded on the corners, but it doesn't have to be. Then add a small, curvy 'w' under the nose to form the lion's mouth.

Step 3: Draw two beady eyes, or try big ones if you prefer.

Step 4: Draw some freckles. If you can, try red or orange.

Step 5: Draw the mane around his head, and add two ears.

Step 6: Finish up the picture by drawing the legs and body, in whatever pose you wish. And of course, add a nice long tail.
