How to effortlessly remove limescale (clean your bathtub)

31% by weight HCl (hydrochloric or muriatic acid) was used in this video. If you're not able to to find concentrated HCl, you can use diluted one, no problem, you'll just have to wait a bit longer for it to remove the limescale. Before you start, make sure, that the surface you intend to clean is resistant to HCl. HCl can react with certain types of stones/minerals, like limescale. Some types of ceramics can also be affected by HCl. Fiberglass is resistant and so are most plastics. HCl can also react with concrete and most metals, so if your drain is nice and shiny, you'll have to protect it before you start, otherwise it won't be so shiny anymore. You can use duct tape or something similar to protect the drain, but still, be careful, because some acid could still end up under the tape if you're spraying it too aggressively. Before you start, also make sure that the surface is dry, otherwise you'll dilute the acid, which will make it less effective. And don't forget the goggles and gloves. If you have a mask, use it, otherwise hold your breath and get to the fresh air before you run out of it. You'll probably still end up inhaling some HCl fumes but this won't kill you or permanently harm you, unless someone locks you in the bathroom, of course. HCl burns your nose because it has a very low pH. Vinegar (diluted acetic acid) can still burn your nose but it's far less acidic than HCl. When HCl enters your lungs, they start releasing fluid, in order to increace the pH back to normal (to dilute the HCl) but you don't want fluid in your lungs, for obvious reasons, so you cough, but if you were exposed to high concentrations of HCl for long enough, you could drown in your own fluid, but as I've said, if you're not locked in the bathroom, the pain will make you escape long before that happens - it will burn your nose at concentrations that are far below the deadly concentration.
