How to Enlarge a Hole With an Auger Bit I made a mistake and drilled a hole that was the wrong size. here is how I fixed it and made it a bit larger. using an auger bit and brace can be difficult to drill a larger hole because you need to have wood registering on the lead screw. the first solution is to fill the hole with a dowel and re-drill it. the second option is to carve it you can do this with a carving gouge. one quick hand tool woodworking tip.
